1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how FreelanceToolkit UK ("we", "our", "the site") collects, uses and protects information when you use the tools at this domain. The site is published by POW XD Ltd, a company in the United Kingdom, which is the data controller for the limited information described below.

2. What data we collect

The tools on this site are designed to keep your information on your own device. Specifically:

• Tool inputs (invoices, expenses, tax inputs). Stored only in your browser's localStorage. Never transmitted to us.
• Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard request logs (IP address, user-agent, timestamp, page requested) for security and abuse prevention. These are retained for up to 30 days.
• Contact form. The contact form opens your email client locally — we only see what you actively send via email.
• Cookies and similar. See sections 3 and 4.

We do not sell personal data and we do not maintain user accounts.

3. Cookies

We use only the following cookies / browser storage:

• Analytics choice — a flag in localStorage that remembers whether you accepted or rejected Google Analytics cookies on our banner.
• Tool data — your saved drafts, expenses and preferences (only on your device).
• Analytics cookies — set by Google Analytics 4 only if you click "Accept analytics" on our banner (see section 6).
• Advertising cookies and Google's consent message — Google AdSense and Google's consent management platform (CMP) may set cookies or use local storage, including to remember the advertising choice you make in Google's consent message (see section 4).

There are two separate consent choices on this site. Our banner asks only about analytics cookies. Advertising consent for visitors in the UK and EEA is asked by Google's own consent message, which Google provides through AdSense; our banner does not control it.

You can clear all of this at any time by clearing site data in your browser settings.

4. Advertising — Google AdSense

This site uses Google AdSense, a third-party display-advertising service operated by Google LLC, to keep the tools free.

• Google may use cookies and similar identifiers to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other sites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet.
• You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.

• The AdSense script loads on every page. 5. Affiliate links

Some links on this site are affiliate links — when you click one and sign up for the product, we receive a small commission from the merchant or its network (e.g. Awin, Impact). This never costs you anything extra and never influences our editorial recommendations. See our editorial principles for how we choose partners.

Affiliate clicks may pass a click identifier (e.g. clickref for Awin) to the merchant so commissions can be attributed. We don't share your name, email or any other personal data with affiliate networks. Affiliate clicks are also logged anonymously by Google Analytics 4 (if you have accepted analytics cookies) so we can understand which placements are useful — see Analytics below.

6. Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to collect aggregated, pseudonymous information about how visitors use the site (page views, browser type, country-level location, referrer, time on page). Analytics cookies are only set after you click "Accept analytics" on our banner; under Google Consent Mode v2 analytics storage defaults to denied. We do not enable Google Signals, so cross-device user data is not collected. You can opt out at any time by clicking "Reject analytics" or by clearing site data in your browser. We also record a few anonymous interaction events in Google Analytics, such as clicks on affiliate links and clicks on the "I'd be interested" button for our proposed freelance starter pack. That button only records the click, the product name, the price shown and the page; it does not collect your name, email or any other details, and nothing is sold through it.

7. Legal basis for processing (UK GDPR)

• Server logs and security: our legitimate interest in protecting the site from abuse.
• Contact email correspondence: taking steps at your request and our legitimate interest in responding.
• Analytics cookies: your consent, given via our banner. You can withdraw it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser and choosing "Reject analytics" when the banner reappears.
• Advertising cookies and personalised ads: your consent, given (or refused) in Google's consent message, which you can reopen to change your choice.

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Have your data erased (right to be forgotten).
• Restrict or object to processing.
